Greg Merz has represented individuals and companies in litigation matters covering a wide variety of subject matters, including telecommunications, agribusiness, administrative law, health & human services, employment, breach of contract, antitrust, franchise & distribution, and professional licensing matters.
Greg focuses much of his practice in the health law sector, representing insurers, hospitals, clinics, and physician groups, as well as in telecommunications, where he represents a wide range of competitive telephone carriers. In the agricultural industry, Greg's clients have included agricultural lenders, cooperatives, providers of agricultural products and services, and farmers ranging from large corporate farming operations to family farms.
Greg has appeared before state and federal trial and appellate courts. In addition to appearing in court, Greg also has an extensive administrative law practice, representing clients in rulemakings, contested case proceedings, and investigation, and enforcement actions before numerous governmental agencies, including the Attorney General’s Office, the Public Utilities Commission, the Department of Health, the Department of Human Services, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Human Rights, the Board of Medical Practice, the Board of Psychiatry, the Board of Nursing, and the Gambling Control Board.
Greg is a past member and past chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, and a past member and chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee.
