Kathi Wright practices in the area of employee benefits and executive compensation, assisting clients with compliance, administrative, and design issues specific to welfare benefit and executive compensation plans for a wide range of employers. Kathi also advises on benefits transitions and other compliance questions that can arise in the context of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions, and she provides counsel on benefits arrangements for many of the firm’s tax-exempt and higher education clients.
In addition to her general employee benefits practice, Kathi offers her clients unique perspective on issues pertaining to the intersection of employee benefits, employment law, and health law, including mental health and substance abuse parity, COBRA, flexible spending account administration, HSAs and HRAs, HIPAA compliance, FMLA compliance, wellness plans, and the ongoing impact of health care reform.

Before joining Gray Plant Mooty, Kathi served as director of compliance at Stanton Group, Inc., a local benefits consulting and third-party administrator, and before that as in-house counsel for a major managed health care and insurance company.
