MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 23, 2018) – Gray Plant Mooty attorney Amanda McAllister recently became a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
McAllister joins fellow Gray Plant Mooty attorney Michael Cohen in obtaining this prestigious certification. The CIPP/E encompasses pan-European and national data protection laws, key privacy terminology, and the protection of personal data and trans-border data flows.
This certification also reflects a comprehensive legal understanding of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This regulation will affect data collection and privacy practices for any company that falls within the territorial and material scope of the GDPR, which becomes enforceable on May 25, 2018. With this certification, McAllister and Gray Plant Mooty can assist companies in determining if their practices require changes to be in compliance with this new regulation.
CIPP is the world’s first broad-based global privacy and data protection credentialing program, which the IAPP developed and launched with leading subject matter experts.
This credential is added to the CIPP/US certification that McAllister earned in November 2017.
